After a thrilling 2023 season with a playoff appearance and a 20 year lease extension at PNC Arena, the Carolina Hurricanes are back for what’s sure to be an exciting season of hockey. Grab a ticket to cheer on our hometown team as they fight to secure their playoff bid and become a Stanley Cup hopeful.
2. World of BlueGrass Festival
The largest urban bluegrass festival in the world is back and happening again in the heart of downtown Raleigh! Plan to be a part of all of the fun this festival brings to town Friday, September 29th-Saturday, September 30th.
3. Corn Maze
Fall at Phillips farm is always a smashing hit! It is open now through October 29th and located in Cary. Along with fall themed activities for all ages they offer a trivia corn maze. Answer the questions correctly and you’ll navigate through in no time! When the sun goes down and the werewolves come out to play it’s time to take on the haunted farm. From 8 pm - 11pm they have a Gore house, Haunted corn maze, and wagon ride. Try to dodge the scary clowns and spooky creatures…boo!
4. Rose and Lee Charity Fashion Show
On October 5th, Rose and Lee Co. will be hosting our second annual Apex Charity Fashion Show. The event will begin at 6:00pm with a collection of raffle items contributed by our community partners, accompanied by hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At 6:45 PM, the spotlight shifts to the runway, setting the stage for a captivating fashion exhibition. As the clock strikes 7:00 PM, models will unveil the latest trends and new arrivals. Following the show, seize the opportunity to shop for the featured looks and other fall styles, all while contributing to a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Western Wake Crisis Ministry. An organization in Apex that partners with those in crisis, to help them gain stability through basic support for food, financial/housing assistance, education, and opportunity.
The NC State Fair will be back and better than ever from October 12th-22nd. Some classic highlights for each year are the firework show, the ferris wheel, and all things deep fried. While you’re there, be sure to try some of our favorite food vendors like Peachey’s Baking, for their mouth watering donuts, a gourmet caramel apple from Miss Debbie’s Specialty Apples & Pumpkin Spice Mini Pancakes by Hot Chix Hotcakes & Chicken . Dust off your broom sticks and pointy hats, and head to Salem Street in Downtown Apex for Witches Night Out! It’s witching hour on October 27th from 5:00-9:00pm, and your favorite spots will be open late with magic potions and spell bounding discounts. Don’t sweep on this year’s Witches Night Out, mark your calendars now for a night of fun!
7. Pumpkin Patch
Is there a more idyllic way to celebrate fall than a trip to the local pumpkin patch and finding the perfect pumpkin to carve or proudly display at your front door? We’re lucky to have so many great locations to choose from here in the Triangle. A few of our favorites are The Family Farm on Avent Ferry in Holly Springs, DJ’s Berry Patch right here in Apex. Whether you’re looking for a huge pumpkin, a lumpy one, or a long stem, these places will have the variety you’re looking for!
8. College Football Game
There’s no better way to kickoff your weekend than a college football game. The triangle certainly doesn’t have a shortage when it comes to college football teams.
Head to Carter Finley, the biggest college football stadium in the Triangle, to cheer on the NC State wolfpack. Or travel to Duke University to enjoy the English Gothic architecture around campus and cheer on the Blue Devils. Or go to Durham and support the UNC Central Eagles after their 7 game win streak earlier this season!
Whatever game you attend, make sure you wear the right team colors. ;)
9. Outdoor concert
Grab some friends or make it a date night and head to an outdoor concert at on the Triangles premier outdoor Concert Venues. Visit RedHat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh, Koka Booth in Cary or Coastal Credit Union Music Park in South Raleigh. There’s so many amazing musicians playing this fall with Hozier, Zac Brown & Paige King Johnson.
10. Food Truck Rodeo
Always a favorite, grab the family and head to a local Food Truck Rodeo. Sample foods from dozens of food trucks and enjoy live music! Two upcoming rodeos include the Fall Brier Creek Fall Food Truck Festival on Sunday, September 24th from 5-8pm and the Durham Central Park Halloween Food Truck Rodeo on October 29th.
